Wild At Heart, dir. David Lynch (1990) ★★★★★

this movie is fucking insanity captured on screen, i mean, what did i think i was getting into, mr. lynch, you mind melter you, i honestly cannot comprehend how anyone would have walked out of a screening of this, right from the opening minutes, when our “lovers in hell” go dancing for the first time, this film revs its engine for 124 minutes, blowing by a slue of solid road movies
story outlines well-known Elvis infatuator, Nic Cage as the snake skin clad road warrior, Sailor. along for the ride is his beloved Lula, played by the Lynch regular Laura Dern. much to the dismay of Lula’s bat-shit mother, Marietta, the couple embarks on an escape plan to sunny california, but not without some trouble from a hired gun, a sexy bleach blonde psycho-path and a drooling lunatic played masterfully by a young(er) william defoe
everything about this film just stinks of cool, if you don’t like this film watch it again, an awesome, hyper active lynchian hunk of pulp that i loved sinking my teeth into
